Kyss Mig

Summary;- MIA (Ruth Vega Fernandez) and FRIDA (Liv Mjönes), both in their thirties, meet each other for the first time at their parents' engagement party. Mia's father, Lasse (Krister Henriksson), is about to get married to Frida's mother, Elizabeth (Lena Endre), which will make Mia and Frida stepsisters. Lasse's daughter, Mia, has not visited her father in years and arrives with her boyfriend, Tim (Joakim Nätterqvist), with whom she is about to get married. As Mia and Frida get to know one another, strong emotions begin to stir between them. Their relationship will turn everything upside down for everyone close to them with dramatic consequences.

Questions;- The only thing that i would say caught me off guard (and not in a good way) was how the first kiss was scripted into the story. Having only just met, and not seeing any infatuation from one of them i had no indication of how their relationship would begin. However the revelation much further on in the film of the 'so called straight one' having previously had a lesbian encounter when younger - showed that her closet doors were just waiting to be opened. And helped minimise script doubts first frowned upon.

Lesbianism;-  8*/10  ... This is basically what the film is. A look into the world of two women, and how they discover their sexuality. As for action, it provides reasonable evidence.

All in all;-  The film shows the trials of love and sacrifices made by both partners in the affair to try and make it work. It is a delicate look in to the live of two opposite women - one confident and proud, the other lost and hiding behind a mask.

So i rejoice for the award-winning Christian pop singer who after a break from music to do some soul-searching, has finally decided to make her return as who she really is - A respected lover of women. She is now poised to release her first studio album in years. Weary but unafraid of the rumors that may face her. Let us support her. x

SKINS - Series 3

Summery;- Skins is a channel 4, UK production showcasing young talent providing opportunity to new rising stars. Fast-paced and full of angst-ridden fun, this British drama is based on a group of Bristol'ian teenagers and their personal struggle with highly-charged issues of race, religion, sexuality, drugs and food disorders.

Lesbianism;- 7*/10 ... Although the series is not based around lesbians, there is a story of women love intertwined. What is shown between these two ladies is a beautiful portrayal of how love can triumph in a world where all around is depression and faithless.

All in all;- The series is a fast pasted over-exaggeration of how crap life could be, and why you should cherish what you have. Seeing the messed up lives of these teenagers should not be, but is greatly entertaining and does not leave you moaning at the screen for more of Naomi and Emily, but captures you in to the lives of all of the interesting cast.

The Page Turner

Summary;- The plot circulates around a single minded girl/young women whose sole purpose is to extract revenge upon the women that she once admired. The women who she believes ended her dream of becoming a concert pianist when she was a mere child.

Lesbian Theme;- Although the theme lesbian is insinuated and is the means behind the plan to ruin her enemy, not much action takes place. The most is a sentimental hand kissing, although this could be construed as a mother kissing the hand of her daughter she thought lost.

All in all;- The story moves at a relaxed paced flow, but for some audience members it may lack the view they were waiting for due to not great excitement created. However for a late Sunday afternoon relaxed movie, it is a sweet and sentimental portrayal of love and deceive.
